Meridian Advantage Privacy Policy

Sophie Terrassin trading as Meridian Advantage (ABN 69 335 190 819) (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy.

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information, and how we handle it in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website or services, you agree to this policy.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we collect through our website, our booking and intake forms, our services (including strategy sessions and ongoing online

business management work), and our communications with you. “Personal information” means information or an opinion about an identified, or reasonably identifiable, individual.

2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

·      contact details — your name, email address, phone number and business address;

·      business information — your company name, website, goals, priorities, revenue streams, tools, team and other details you provide (for example, in our intake questionnaire);

·      booking and payment information — details of the services you book and, where relevant, payment details (note: card payments are processed by our payment provider, and we do not store full card numbers ourselves);

·      correspondence — records of your communications with us; and

·      website and technical data — such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected automatically through cookies and analytics (see clause 8).

We generally do not collect sensitive information (such as health or racial/political information). If we ever need to, we will ask for your consent first.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a form or questionnaire, book or pay for a service, email or message us, or otherwise deal with us. We also collect some technical information automatically when you use our website. Where it is reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information directly from you rather than from third parties.

4. Why we collect and use it

We collect and use your personal information to:

·      provide, manage and deliver our services, including preparing your action plan and communicating with you;

·      take bookings, issue invoices and process payments;

·      respond to your enquiries and provide support;

·      keep our records and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations; and

·      with your consent, send you updates, offers or marketing (see clause 5).

We only use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, for related purposes you would reasonably expect, or as required or permitted by law.

5. Direct marketing

We will only send you marketing communications where you have consented or would reasonably expect to receive them. Every marketing message will include a simple way to opt out (such as an unsubscribe link), and we will action opt-out requests promptly. You can also ask us at any time to stop contacting you for marketing purposes.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted third parties who help us run our business, only as needed to provide our services, including:

·      our payment provider (for example, PayPal), scheduling and booking tools, email and marketing platforms, cloud storage and file-sharing services (for example, OneDrive/SharePoint), video-conferencing tools (for example, Microsoft Teams), and our accountant or bookkeeper;

·      any subcontractors we engage to help deliver your services, who are bound by equivalent confidentiality and privacy obligations; and

·      government bodies, regulators or others where required or authorised by law.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of the third-party providers we use store or process information on servers outside Australia (for example, in the United States and other countries where those

providers operate). Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

8. Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and analytics tools (for example, Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. You can disable cookies in your

browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well as a result.

9. How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure; for example, through secure storage, password protection and limiting access to those who need it. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. There is normally no charge, though we may recover reasonable costs for access in some cases. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will explain why.

11. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below, and we will try to resolve it. If you are not

satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website, and the effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
